Early 1980s: According to investigators, Charles ALBANESE begins slowly poisoning his father Michael ALBANESE, his wife´s mother Marion MUELLER and his wife´s grandmother Mary LAMBERT with arsenic in Chicago. Thousands of dollars behind on mortgage, loan and child support payment, ALBANESE wanted inheritance money, prosecutors said. He also is convicted of attempted murder for attempting to poison his brother. ALBANESE, his father and brother were the principals in a successful trophy-manufacturing company.
Discovery & Verdict:
Charles ALBANESE is sentenced to death 1982 and executed by lethal injection September 20, 1995 at Stateville Correctional Center near Joliet. Hours before his execution, ALBANESE issued a statement declaring his innocence.
