Dispite the disappearance of five tourists in the mountain area of Salzkammergut near Salzburg within six weeks in June and Juli 1921 seemed a suspicious accumulation and therefor led to broad media coverage and speculations, there was never any hint that the missing tourists Mr. ALEXANDER, Julius ROSKOSCHNY, Mr. FISCHER, Artur STORK and hungarian student Karl von RIBARY had become victims of a crime.
More obvious the five young men disappeared each during mountain tours - like dozens of "normal" mountain accidents each year at that time. The statistical accumulation in a rather small area did cause intensive investigation but did not lead to any evidence for murder.
