On March 29, 1986, police in Xidan, China -- a district of Peking -- arrested a 42-year-old restaurant owner on charges of murdering three teenagers, cooking their flesh, and serving it to other members of his own family as "pork." No principals in the case were named, but the slayer's victims were described as two boys and a girl. The suspect's wife and two children were briefly held for questioning, then released upon convincing authorities of their innocence. Police declined to speculate on any further victims or the possibility that human flesh was offered in the killer's restaurant. At this writing, no disposition of the case has been announced.
