An unnamed resident of Tanta, Egypt, fifty miles northwest of Cairo, was accused by the authorities, in April 1920, of slaughtering a score of women whom he lured to his home for purposes of robbery and murder. According to reports released on April 28, a raiding party found no less than twenty severed heads inside the killer's home. The corpses of his victims were apparently burned, their heads being retained as grisly trophies by the slayer who had also robbed them of their cash and jewelry.
